Since its revamp in 2020, the Chronomat has quickly become Breitling’s signature collection of high-end everyday watches, or, in the company’s words, its “all-purpose sport-chic watch. What this approach translates to in real life is a wide assortment of sizes, functions, and styles while ensuring each iteration maintains fundamental Chronomat design details such as bezel rider tabs, prominent onion-style crowns, wearable round cases, and easy-to-read baton indices and handsets. While some versions lean into the collection’s tool-watch roots, others push the design toward a more expressive, luxurious aesthetic. They don’t detract from the watch, but they also don’t add much except to emphasize the watch industry’s tired approach of throwing diamonds on a dial if it’s classified as a “ladies’ watch.” Don’t get me wrong, I love a good gem-set timepiece, but these blink-and-you’ll-miss-them diamonds really don’t do much heavy lifting in the design department.

The gem-set bezel, though, is more dynamic. Featuring a gradient of blue, purple, and pink stones (suspiciously not specified as to what stones they are) introduces color in a way that’s noticeable but certainly not over-the-top extravagance. It’s really more about lively pigment than overt sparkle here. As with all UK online replica Brielting Chronomat watches, the hallmark rider tabs are present, three of which include two stones, while the 12 o’clock one is set with a single rock. The touch of precious metals I mentioned before is found right here on the bezel, which is crafted from 18k white gold rather than the stainless steel used for the rest of the case.

Powering the cheap super clone watches are the Caliber 10, a 28,800bph (4 Hz), COSC-certified automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. While it’s a solid, reliable self-winding caliber, Breitling opted to hide this non-in-house-made (ETA or Sellita sourced) with a solid caseback. Since I’m not on the “everything has to be made in-house to be legit” train, I think an exhibition caseback would have been nice to see the movement in action.

This South Sea model is a fun, colorful take on the Chronomat formula, offering a mix of sportiness and playfulness within a well-sized case. It’s not a watch for minimalists, but for those who like a bit of color, some subtle sparkle, and a bold yet versatile look, it’s a compelling option. The ice blue AAA replica Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36 South Sea watches’ (ref. G10380611C1P1) $10,950 USD price tag is, however, a stretch. I could pick up two full steel Chronomat Automatic 36 (on a bracelet) models with that budget, and I’m not convinced that a smattering of diamonds on the dial, unnamed colorful gems on the bezel, and a blue alligator strap justify twice the price.
